Funding and Support

At Green Levers, we believe that the people closest to the challenges are also closest to the solutions. Our approach is grounded in listening, partnership, and long-term thinking. Around the world, community-based organisations are restoring ecosystems, protecting biodiversity, strengthening livelihoods, and caring for both people and the planet, often with limited resources but deep and enduring local knowledge.

We aim to help this work go further by offering flexible funding, thoughtful advice, and shared visibility. Our role is to support locally led organisations to strengthen and extend their impact at a pace that is right for them, recognising that local leadership deserves to be respected, resourced, and heard.

Who We Work With

We partner with small to mid-sized organisations that are rooted in their communities and working towards environmental and social change. This includes organisations protecting biodiversity, responding to climate pressures, and supporting livelihoods through locally led solutions.

In shaping our partnerships, we prioritise organisations that:

  • Are community-led or locally grounded
  • Focus on biodiversity, climate resilience, locally led environmental solutions, or community development
  • Require flexible support to strengthen, adapt, or grow their work
  • Operate in contexts where funding is limited, particularly in lower-income areas or regions facing environmental and social pressures

Our partnerships are built on trust, transparency, and shared learning. We place particular value on working with organisations at pivotal moments of development or transition, where thoughtful support can help unlock long-term impact.

What We Fund

Our funding priorities are shaped by our charitable purpose and continue to develop over time. At present, our focus is on supporting work that contributes to:

  • Protecting and restoring ecosystems and biodiversity
  • Strengthening climate resilience through nature-based solutions
  • Empowering marginalised communities
  • Promoting sustainable livelihoods, health, and education

This can include:

  • Community-led conservation and restoration projects
  • Indigenous or locally designed environmental initiatives
  • Sustainable income-generating activities
  • Capacity-building or operational support linked to mission impact

To ensure our resources are used effectively and responsibly, we do not support the following:

Commercial or profit-led projects:

  • Standalone research without clear community benefit
  • General fundraising campaigns
  • Projects that lack transparent governance or accountability

Who Our Support Is For

Our support is intended for organisations with a clear charitable purpose that are working to protect ecosystems, strengthen communities, and address environmental and social challenges.

  • Registered charities and nonprofit organisations (in the UK and internationally)
  • Community groups and local initiatives with a charitable purpose and sound governance
  • Indigenous and place-based organisations working to protect land, culture, and livelihoods

We place particular emphasis on working with organisations operating in contexts where funding is limited, or where environmental and social needs are especially urgent.

How We Offer Our Support

At Green Levers, we see support as a shared journey. Each organisation we work with is shaped by its community, history, and the challenges it faces. For this reason, we do not take a one-size-fits-all approach.

We aim to be flexible, thoughtful, and responsive. We take time to understand what matters to our partners and work together to shape support that helps them move forward in ways that are appropriate to their priorities and circumstances.

Our support may include:

  • Flexible funding that reflects organisational priorities and stage of development
  • Strategic support, including advice on organisational development, storytelling, or long-term sustainability
  • Visibility and networks that support learning, connection, and collaboration

Our support begins with listening and develops through trust, collaboration, and shared purpose.

How We Work With Potential Partners

Green Levers is a new organisation and we are building our work carefully and responsibly. We welcome thoughtful enquiries, and we ask for patience as we develop our processes and capacity over time.

Our Approach

We approach potential partnerships as a conversation rather than a formal application process. Where there is a strong alignment with our purpose and values, we take time to explore whether and how we might work together.

How the process typically works

Step 1: Get in touch
You are welcome to contact us at [email protected]  to introduce your organisation and your work. A short overview is sufficient at this stage. We read every enquiry carefully and will always respond, even where we are not able to take the conversation further.

Step 2: Conversation
Where there appears to be a good fit, we will invite a conversation to better understand your context, priorities, and aspirations, and to explore whether working together would be mutually beneficial.

 Step 3: Co-designing support
If we decide to move forward, we will work collaboratively to shape a form of support that reflects your needs, stage of development, and the resources available.

Thinking about getting in touch?

If you would like to introduce your organisation, ask a question, or explore whether there may be a fit in the future, you are welcome to contact us. As a new organisation, we ask for patience and understanding as we build our capacity. We read every enquiry carefully and will always respond.

Newsletter coming soon
